The ski that started a revolution, reimagined

When Armada first released the JJ it was the first of its kind. A true game-changer, its shape and sidecut design have gone on to influence almost every other freeski brand on the planet. As a tribute to their original ground-breaking design, Armada have released a limited-edition version for 2017/18 – the JJ Zero 2.0. Created exclusively for core skiers and sold only by Armada’s most valued retailers (like us!), the Zero Collection features exclusive colourways, details and premium construction not seen anywhere else in the Armada line.

All-mountain performance

The JJ Zero is 20% lighter than the conventional JJ making it more agile and manoeuvrable than its predecessors, with a gradual taper in the nose and tail, a longer turn radius and wider contact points. The result is additional float at low speed and increased control in steeper terrain. As comfortable on-piste as off, the JJ Zero is an all-mountain destroyer which leans towards powder butters and booter landings. Plus, with the new lighter core, it’s tourable too.

A blend of soft snow float with hard snow hold and agility

Armada’s Hybrid Ultra-light core combines lightweight wood with hardwood laminates underfoot, creating a ski that’s agile and manoeuvrable without sacrificing edge-hold or shock absorption. The EST Freeride rocker blends reverse camber in the nose and tail with traditional positive camber underfoot, combining with the “Elf-shoe” reverse sidecut to deliver the float of a larger ski in powder with the turn radius and edge-hold of a narrower, shorter ski on-piste and hardpack.

Lightweight and durable construction

Blending a more flexible cap construction in the tip and tail with a solid sidewall underfoot, the Zero reduces swing-weight and delivers a relaxed turn entry and exit while maintaining a confident edge hold throughout the turn. The lightweight 1.7mm Impact Edge itself is heat treated for increased strength and durability, while the fibreglass Laminate Matrix topsheet is woven to create a directional flex pattern and torsional rigidity.

If you’ve loved previous versions of the JJ and like to stand out from the crowd, then the JJ Zero was made with you in mind. Get on it now, before they disappear.

Size Guide

The size chart below provides a basic guide to finding the right ski length based on your height and ability but there are several other factors you should consider before choosing your new skis!

The two most relevant considerations when interpreting the chart below are your weight and the type of skiing you intend to do.

Weight: If you’re a heavier built that the average person of your height then we suggest choosing a longer ski as a heavier skier requires more edge to grip the snow and more base area for floatation in powder and cruddy snow.  Conversely, if you’re a slimmer build you may want to consider going for a shorter ski as you’ll need less edge / ski to support your weight than someone of an ‘average’ build.

Skier Type: Secondly, if you want a ski that’s going to inspire confidence when you’re skiing fast and you like to ski faster than most, then a longer ski is going to be preferable.   The additional edge and float provided by a longer ski will give you a more stable ride.  If, however, you’re more freestyle focussed and you want a ski that’s going to be more nimble and easier to manoeuvre at low speeds then a slightly shorter ski will work better for you as there will be less ski to manage.

If you have any queries at all on finding the right ski or ski size for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further advice.
