When Armada first released the men’s JJ it started a revolution. The first of its kind, its shape and sidecut design have gone on to influence almost every other freeski brand on the planet. The women’s specific version, the VJJ 2.0, is it built with more gradual taper in the nose and tail, longer turn radius and wider contact points than its predecessor. The result is additional float at low speed and increased control in steeper terrain. As comfortable on-piste as off it, the VJJ is an all-mountain destroyer which leans towards powder turns and tree lines.

The VJJ is built around Armada’s Hybrid Ultra-light core, a combination of lightweight wood throughout with hardwood laminates underfoot. This creates a ski that remains agile and manoeuvrable without sacrificing edge-hold or shock absorption.

The EST Freeride rocker blends reverse camber in the nose and tail with traditional positive camber underfoot. This helps to provide float in powder while retaining edge hold and control on hardpack or wind scoured faces. When combined with the “Elf-shoe” reverse sidecut the result is a ski which has the float of a larger ski in powder but the turn radius of a narrower, shorter ski on-piste and hardpack. This makes it fantastic for transitioning between wide-open powder faces, tight tree-lines and icy groomers.

The AR50 Sidewall is comprised of cap construction in the tip and tail with full sidewall underfoot. This helps to balance performance with reduced swing-weight and increased durability. The capped construction of the nose and tail offer increased flexibility meaning that the ski is more relaxed upon entry and exit of turns. This works in unison with the full ABS sidewall underfoot which holds the edge and remains confident throughout the turn.

The lightweight 1.7mm Impact Edge is heat treated for increased strength and durability meaning it can take more abuse from tree trunks or unseen rocks without resulting in an edge buckle or worse, a blowout.

The fibreglass Laminate Matrix topsheet is woven to create a directional flex pattern and torsional rigidity. The result is a ski which retains drive through the tail and responsive edge-to-edge power transfer.

Topped off with Armada’s premium Comp Series base, their fastest and highest quality base, offering lightning fast top speed with great durability and impact resistance.

What we say: “Revolutionary by design, we can’t guarantee the VJJ 2.0 will do the same for your skiing but they’ll make sure you have a lot of fun trying!”

Size Guide

The size chart below provides a basic guide to finding the right ski length based on your height and ability but there are several other factors you should consider before choosing your new skis!

The two most relevant considerations when interpreting the chart below are your weight and the type of skiing you intend to do.

Weight: If you’re a heavier built that the average person of your height then we suggest choosing a longer ski as a heavier skier requires more edge to grip the snow and more base area for floatation in powder and cruddy snow.  Conversely, if you’re a slimmer build you may want to consider going for a shorter ski as you’ll need less edge / ski to support your weight than someone of an ‘average’ build.

Skier Type: Secondly, if you want a ski that’s going to inspire confidence when you’re skiing fast and you like to ski faster than most, then a longer ski is going to be preferable.   The additional edge and float provided by a longer ski will give you a more stable ride.  If, however, you’re more freestyle focussed and you want a ski that’s going to be more nimble and easier to manoeuvre at low speeds then a slightly shorter ski will work better for you as there will be less ski to manage.

If you have any queries at all on finding the right ski or ski size for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further advice.
