A BIG MOUNTAIN SKI WHICH SEAMLESSLY BLENDS POWER WITH MANOEUVRABILITY - THE BLACK CROWS ANIMA HAS THE FEEL OF A FULL ROCKER SKI, WITH THE PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY NECESSARY IN DEMANDING HIGH-ALPINE TERRAIN.

Offering playful flex and fun through powder, without compromising stability in firmer conditions, the Black Crows Anima is the perfect choice for powder hounds who generally enjoy the less-serious side of life, but know when to take their party-hat off. Flexible in the extremities, stiffer underfoot – they strike a great balance between relaxed fun and precision performance, perfectly complementing their big-mountain persona by ensuring they’re as enjoyable to butter through powder as they are steadfast on steep slopes.

Wood, carbon and Kevlar – the big three

The Anima’s core is nothing but poplar seasoned with a dash of carbon and Kevlar. Known for its flexible properties, the poplar gives the Anima long-lasting durability with an even and continuous flex from tip to tail. Complemented by a carbon and Kevlar band which runs the full length of the ski - further enhancing the wood’s characteristic pop and rebound.

Suspension for your skis

Along the Anima’s edges you’ll find ABS semi-cap sidewall - a hybrid construction which sees the ski’s topsheet folded over the edges, then fused with a shock absorbing polymer sidewall material. This bolsters the Anima’s edges against impact by absorbing and deflecting collisions with trees, rocks and other unseen threats. It also reduces the instances of topsheet delamination and unsightly chips. Additionally, they benefit from overbuilt, tempered steel edges which are thicker than those on regular skis, providing increased lifespan, durability and deflection.

Boasting awards from Fall Line, Powder and Freeskier magazines, as well as countless others, the Black Crows Anima is a ski which has won the hearts of countless opinion leaders. If you’re in the market for a big mountain ski which is equal parts fun-loving and reliable, then the Anima shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Size Guide

The size chart below provides a basic guide to finding the right ski length based on your height and ability but there are several other factors you should consider before choosing your new skis!

The two most relevant considerations when interpreting the chart below are your weight and the type of skiing you intend to do.

Weight: If you’re a heavier built that the average person of your height then we suggest choosing a longer ski as a heavier skier requires more edge to grip the snow and more base area for floatation in powder and cruddy snow.  Conversely, if you’re a slimmer build you may want to consider going for a shorter ski as you’ll need less edge / ski to support your weight than someone of an ‘average’ build.

Skier Type: Secondly, if you want a ski that’s going to inspire confidence when you’re skiing fast and you like to ski faster than most, then a longer ski is going to be preferable.   The additional edge and float provided by a longer ski will give you a more stable ride.  If, however, you’re more freestyle focussed and you want a ski that’s going to be more nimble and easier to manoeuvre at low speeds then a slightly shorter ski will work better for you as there will be less ski to manage.

If you have any queries at all on finding the right ski or ski size for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further advice.
