With the coming of the first frosty morning scraping the windscreen and the first sight of snow on the hills certainly all of our minds drift towards the opening of our local mountain. Here in Scotland that day is fast approaching, temperatures are dropping fast and the skies are a thick heavy grey; teasing us with the prospect of a bountiful season.
However over in mainland Europe the season is already in full swing, earlier in October our homies over at Rome Europe HQ pulled together the new Rome European Regional team and hit the Hintertux, Kaunertal and Stubai glaciers. Producing their first video project of the year titled ?Localism?. Edges were dulled, grabs grabbed and parks slaughtered….
The Localism crew consists of Katha Buchegger holding it down for the ladies, the always technical Max Glatzl and Lorenz Vysozil, German rippers Felix Georgii, Gabor Abonyi, Tobi Hartmuth and the young Finn Rene Rinnekangas.
Localism embodies the level of passion for snowboarding that exists at Rome. A film and idea from Rome’s very own European warranty/do-everything man, Eddie Rakete. He took a break from the office to hit glaciers and take a stab at filming and editing to showcase the young and up-and-coming talent of Rome’s regional European team. Completely on his own accord Eddie documented these openings, the excitement of being on snow again and the park carnage that accompanied them.
Look out for more of Eddie’s work over the coming months, both on the mountain and in the water – but for now check out Localism here:
