Rome Snowboards 2018

It’s that time of year where all the funnest stuff starts to arrive and we’re now stoked to have received our first drops of goodies from Rome Snowboards. There’s lots to explore if you want to check out the full Rome range, but our man Lew was lucky enough to take a spin out to the Rome lodge last winter to get a sneak peak at this season’s hottest bits.

While he was there, he managed to get the inside line from some of Rome’s top guys about exactly what makes these key pieces tick.

The National

Rome’s National snowboard is a new one for them this season. It’s a classic all-mountain charger that’s really ready to go anywhere, with a good helping of traditional camber between the feet, but a little rocker starting just inside the contact points. It’s built for the likes of Rome rider Bjorn Leines, who have that powerful riding style that a bit of camber really suits. Lightweight, fast and packing plenty of pop, the National is no joke.

But don’t take our word for it, take a look at what Rome co-founder Paul Maravetz had to say about The National out at the Lodge.

Check out the original National, the limited edition National LE or the National Bjorn that features beefed-up Carbon Reverse Radial V TurboRods like you’d find in the hugely popular Mod. Take your pick!

The Libertine SRT

A twist on the regular but much-loved Libertine of recent seasons, the all-new SRT boot is a super-cool mid-flexing all-mountain/freestyle boot with some pretty awesome features. That traditional lace-up style is backed-up by some BOA action and a nifty removable power strap, and the sole is now more grippy than ever.

This boot is a firm favourite with the Rome team, but before you make up your mind, check out what Rome’s European marketing and sales manager Philipp has to say about it.

Grab the Libertine SRT or the original Libertine, whichever takes your fancy – you can’t really go wrong with Rome!

Of course, you can expect to see plenty of the old favourites still in the range, with new artwork and subtle tweaks here and there to make that performance even better. They are and have been one of our favourite snowboard brands since what seems like forever, and this season is no different. Go check em out!
