About Adidas

The brand with the three stripes. Adidas almost doesn't need an introduction. It's the second largest sporting goods and footwear manufacturer in the world and its unmistakable logo and name are instantly recognizable.

Adidas has now turned its eye for classic looks, detailed understanding of fit, and massive international resources to the world of skate and snowboard, producing some of the best footwear, boots and apparel in the industry.

They began modifying and beefing up classic shoes like the Samba and outfitting them with soles for skateboarding. They've followed a similar root in snowboarding, adapting classics styles like the Superstar and morphing them into snowboard boots.

Big rider support for an even bigger brand

You can't talk about adidas and not mention the athletes they’re associated with. Long tied to names like Messi and Beckham, adidas has also signed up the elite to represent their skate and snowboard programs. Skate legend Dennis Buesinitz recently released his 10 year anniversary pro shoe with the three stripe. During the LA premiere of the long anticipated adidas Away Days – adidas skateboarding’s first full-length video – they introduced Marc Johnson and Daewon Song to the team. The sort of power moves only one of skateboarding’s biggest players could make.

On the snowboard side of things, the team is smaller but just as elite. Names like Keegan Valaika, Louif Paradis and Kazu Kokubo fill out the roster. Jake Blauvelt established himself as one of backcountry snowboarding’s elite during Forum snowboards heyday and now has a pro snowboard boot and pro casual boot – the Jake Boot – with adidas.

Adidas Skate Shoes and Snowboard Boots

What you get from the three stripe

Everything adidas does has a quality and look about it that few manufacturers can match. In the relatively few seasons since adidas’ foray into snowboarding began, the brand has already proven themselves as premium boot makers and are now making streetwear-inspired outerwear that has similar waterproofing tech as other recognizable brands in the industry.

Adidas snowboarding boots have become a shop favourite at Freeze. Many of the snowboard boots, such as the Tactical ADV boost, have Ultralon heat moldable liners and feature adidas’ patented boost  power transfer technology. The adidas boots feature one of the narrowest heel pockets in the industry, to keep your foot locked down and comfortable while riding. If you’re looking for something freeride orientated, keep a look out for the Blauvelt, which is one of the stiffest boots in the industry and features a synthetic leather shell.

On the skate side of things adidas has built a reputation for sleek designs, simple aesthetics and resilience. In an industry where skate shoes used to last a couple of month, adidas has a developed the tech to make durable shoes that hold their shape and last.
