Much like its namesake, Pat Moore, the Capita X Volcom Pat Moore Pro is innovative, confident and consistent. Whether you’re poppin’ ollies off of a mogul or ready to send it off a Superpark jump, you can trust that you’ll have a lot of fun and reliability on the Volcom Pat Moore Pro.

Thanks to its slightly stiffer than mid-flex profile, it’s best suited to intermediate riders and up who want a fully functional, all-mountain freestyle board.

Built around Capita’s Powershift RFC Dual Core; lightweight and with no irregularities or finger joints, its uniform flex provides an incredibly smooth ride. This dual species core is constructed with the highest quality Poplar and Beech woods enabling the rider to hold a solid edge while carving, eliminating chatter at high speeds and contributing more power to ollies and landings. The core also features Carbon Fibre beams; known for its rigidity, high tensile strength, low weight, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion, carbon fibre is one of the most popular materials used in today’s high performance snowboards. This lightweight, strong material, when moulded into the core, increases power and response while remaining ultralight and poppy.

The edges feature shock absorbing ABS sidewall construction for impact resistance and vibration dampening. This is complemented and bolstered against impact by the heat treated, hardened steel edge rails.

The Volcom Pat Moore Pro utilises Capita’s Dynaweave woven fibreglass laminates; triaxial fibreglass on the top of the core with biaxial fibreglass beneath, creating more response while significantly increasing the board’s overall strength and durability. The topsheet is bonded to the core using Capita’s “Evo Resin,” comprised of 60% plant based, renewable, agricultural raw materials produced with no waste or greenhouse emissions.

All boards in Capita’s range feature their exclusive PLT Topsheet technology, a propriety method of bonding the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard. This process is unique to Capita, while the rest of the snowboard industry affix their topsheets with glue, heat and pressure during the pressing stage. Doing so causes the fiberglass structure underneath to show through the topsheet and because nobody wants to spend their hard earned cash on an unsightly bumpy snowboard, many companies then slather the topsheet with a thick toxic lacquer to smooth things out. Not only does this add lots of additional weight and has been known to develop unsightly hairline cracks it’s also very toxic on the environment. Capita’s PLT machine produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without all the pollutants found in other snowboard’s manufacture.

The base features Capita’s wax infused Enduro sintered base, offering the perfect balance between high performance and low maintenance thanks to its high level of wax absorbency, allowing for longer periods of time between waxing sessions. These bases are created by taking pellets of extra-high-molecular-weight Polyethylene and compressing them through heat and pressure. The microscopic spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride. This prevents your base from drying out and keeps the surface feeling freshly waxed throughout the day. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast, durable and are the preferred choice of pro-snowboarders worldwide. The base is then topped off with a titanal inlay, a high strength hardened aluminium alloy with excellent compression strength to weight ratios, which gives the base bomb-proof structural reinforcement.

The Volcom Pat Moore features full, traditional positive camber. Tried and true, a Traditional Camber Profile elongates your effective edge and provides more power in your nose and tail. Boards pop harder and have more high-speed turning stability with this design.

Every board in Capita’s line is designed with four unique blend zones. This is the area after the sidecut ends and before the nose or tail shape starts. In this small section, the shape of the board must transition from a sidecut arc going one direction, into the tip shape arc going in the opposite direction. This very important section of the board is similar to the steering in your car. It's the driving force in initiating turns and determining where your board is going. A poorly designed blend zone will cause your board to be hooky or turn slowly and can limit your ability to transition between edges. Capita has taken the time to pay distinct attention to this detail; fine-tuning each and every board to make sure your riding experience is balanced and perfect.

What we say: “If you’re familiar with Pat Moore’s style of riding then you already know what this board was built for, if not then what you can expect is bags of freestyle performance in an all-mountain package. The Capita X Volcom Pat Moore Pro will have you popping ollies off rollers, tail tapping tree trunks and spinning kickers in no time.”
