Advanced core tech elevates the already excellent Wailer 112 to new heights

The Wailer family occupies that all-mountain sweet spot in the DPS range, built to perform across the whole hill. The 112mm waist version is the most freeride-friendly in the family and with the all-new high-tech Alchemist carbon core, it becomes a top-of-the-range, premium ski with an advanced performance that matches its price tag.

Lightweight carbon performance with new dampening technologies

DPS have long been proponents of the carbon core, cutting huge amounts of weight and vastly improving torsional rigidity for a supremely quick and agile ride. The Alchemist offers lightweight aspen sandwiched between two layers of aerospace-grade prepeg carbon, which makes the Wailer 112 great edge-to-edge for a wider ski, but thanks to the brand’s new proprietary dampening technology, you get a smoother and more assured ride, particularly at high speeds and in choppy conditions.

A true all-mountain charger

With a 112mm waist and plenty of rocker in the nose and tail, the Wailer’s award-winning shape packs a whole lot of soft snow float. But with a substantial chunk of rocker underfoot, you’re going to get a lively ride and tonnes of grip on hard pack too. DPS’s clever Paddle Tech sidecut technology uses a tapered, flatter sidecut section, that blends the radius into the contact points to give the ski a uniquely smooth and intuitive feel – allowing you to really vary the tightness of your turns to suit the terrain.

Premium construction throughout

The Wailer Alchemist’s highlights don’t stop at the internals or the shape – it’s finished with the best construction techniques and materials too. The fully-capped polyamide topsheet is designed to shed snow, improving performance and reducing fatigue. The UHMW sidewalls are supremely impact-resistant and great for edge control. Wide-profile, impact-resistant Rockwell 48 steel alloy edges last longer between tuning across the lifetime of the ski. And the high-graphite-content, fully-sintered race base is one of the fastest around. It’s just quality top to bottom.

A true super-ski

Flexing between stiff and mid-flex, it’s best suited to advanced intermediates and above who want a go-anywhere-do-anything ski that’s simply does not compromise on construction and technology. Believe the hype, people. It’s that good.
