Often regarded as the home of extreme skiing, Dynastar’s CHAM range has been developed and produced in the infamous Chamonix Valley. Designed to push the limits of freeride while simultaneously making it more accessible by incorporating new-generation cambers and sidecuts, the CHAM family of skis deliver even more performance in all terrains and in all conditions.

Thanks to its 107mm waist, the CHAM 107 is arguably the most versatile ski in the family. Providing bags of float in powder yet still obedient and responsive in icy or hardpacked conditions, it embodies the sweet spot in any skier’s quiver. It’s light enough to be used as a free-touring setup but powerful enough to be charged hard on groomers or into the sidecountry, making it the go-to ski for a whole host of different riders.

Coming in between stiff and mid-flex, they're ideal for advanced riders and up who want a freeride ski which leans toward performance and power yet retains just enough flex to keep them fun, playful and forgiving when you want to take it easy.

Built around a super-lightweight wood core, comprised of Paulownia, a softwood known for its unrivalled strength-to-weight ratio, the ski’s overall weight is reduced by 25%. This is complemented by fibreglass laminates which guarantee power, stability and performance regardless of whether you’re ascending or descending. Additionally, a reinforced binding area underfoot gives the bindings secure screw retention and stability, drastically reducing the chance of a pull-out. Thanks to the traditional sandwich construction, the sidewalls extend the full length of the ski. This gives the CHAM 107 great edge hold through the turn with fantastic shock absorption properties.

The hybrid camber features traditional camber underfoot, moderate rocker through the nose, and light rocker in the tail. Camber provides increased energy, shock-absorption and edge hold while the moderate tip and slight tail rocker provides easy turn initiation, playful manoeuvrability and effortless float in deep snow.

Topped off with a 5-point sidecut design; a tapered nose and tail which moves the widest points of the sidecut closer to the centre of the ski. This drastically reduces the occurrence of tip and tail hang-ups on hard pack and in powder while giving the skis a turn radius similar to that of a shorter size.

What we say: “Often regarded as the Holy Grail of freeski waist widths, anything around the 104-108mm is synonymous with all-mountain, freeride dynamite. Building on this powder sweet-spot, the CHAM 107 is ideal for ripping treelines, slashing powder, charging groomers and everything in-between.”

Size Guide

The size chart below provides a basic guide to finding the right ski length based on your height and ability but there are several other factors you should consider before choosing your new skis!

The two most relevant considerations when interpreting the chart below are your weight and the type of skiing you intend to do.

Weight: If you’re a heavier built that the average person of your height then we suggest choosing a longer ski as a heavier skier requires more edge to grip the snow and more base area for floatation in powder and cruddy snow.  Conversely, if you’re a slimmer build you may want to consider going for a shorter ski as you’ll need less edge / ski to support your weight than someone of an ‘average’ build.

Skier Type: Secondly, if you want a ski that’s going to inspire confidence when you’re skiing fast and you like to ski faster than most, then a longer ski is going to be preferable.   The additional edge and float provided by a longer ski will give you a more stable ride.  If, however, you’re more freestyle focussed and you want a ski that’s going to be more nimble and easier to manoeuvre at low speeds then a slightly shorter ski will work better for you as there will be less ski to manage.

If you have any queries at all on finding the right ski or ski size for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further advice.
