About the Dakine Nylon/Cork Tuning
The Dakine Nylon/Cork is a multi-use tuning brush for on-the-go tuning for your snowboard and skis.
The nylon brush has an 8 x 3.5cm working area and should be used to clean your snowboard or skis before waxing and to brush smooth after waxing. The cork is 10 x 5cm and should be used after using rub-on wax, or in the extreme cold snow to smooth and buff newly applied wax.
But why do I need a brush?
If you take two pieces of polished glass, put a drop of water on one and then press them together, they will stick to each other. If, however, the glass has channels carved in it, the water will just run through the panes. The same is true with snowboards. If you buff your board up using circular motions making it all shiny, it will stick to the snow.
By brushing it and making all your strokes from nose to tail, you're actually making lots of little grooves and channels in the base that will help your board glide over the snow faster.
