The Ortovox Kodiak Shovel is a tough mountaineering shovel with a unique clearing function and practical D-grip. Boasting the largest shovelling volume (3.1 litres) in Ortovox's product line, its definitely the fastest shovel of the bunch. Made from anodised aluminium, the blade is extremely rigid, yet the shovel remains easy to pack and fits into any Ortovox backpack.
Its cutting edge is sharpened, while its upper edge is equipped with non-slip ridges to provide traction. The shaft is oval (for greater rigidity) and has a telescopic, non-slip rubberised surface. The frictional connection between the shaft and blade on the Kodiak is virtually indestructible, saving precious time which can be vital when saving lives.
