About the Salomon QST 118

The widest ski in Salomons QST range for 2020 of all mountain and freeride skis, the QST 118 is designed to dominate any and all conditions that you'll encounter when you duck the rope and head away from the piste. These skis are a freeride machine.

With its 118mm waist and medium to stiff flex, it's perfect for advanced and expert level skiers who want a ski that's aggressive enough to charge deep snow or firm freeride conditions while still giving the maximum ability to float and drift in powder. This is achieved by building up from a full inverted wood core sidewall construction using a range of progressive design shapes and materials.

Made from a full poplar wood core with C/FX (carbon flax weave), the QST 118 is an incredibly light offering that is still more than strong and stable thanks to the vibration absorbsion offered from the flax. Cork dampening pads are placed in the tips of the ski, cork offers unrivalled dampening for it's weight, ensuring a smooth ride.

A twin rocker profile combines with the tapered tips to maximise soft snow performance, minimising drag and maximising float. Camber underfoot maintains power transmission and edge hold when you need it with help from the titanal layer at the centre of the ski.

The QST 118 from Salomon is perfect for anyone looking for one tool to cover all aspects of powder, freeride and backcountry skiing with powerful performance and an amazingly maneuverable feel.

Features Include
  • Full 360 Sidewall - ABS construction running around the entire sidewall adds strength and increases ski/snow contact
  • CFX Superfiber - A weave of Carbon and Flax fibers improves torsional stiffness and dampens the ski while remaining extremely lightweight
  • All-Terrain Rocker - Rockered tip for easy turn initiation and maximum floatation, camber underfoot to improve stability at speed and edge grip on hard pack, subtle tail rocker for smooth turn exits
  • Hook Free Taper - The Ski has a sidecut which tapers in the tip and tail at their extremities, the result is easy turn initiation and manoeuvrability, especially in soft snow
  • Cork Damplifier Light extremities for maximum floatation and a dampened ride for shock resistance
  • Full Poplar Woodcore - A full wood core running from tip to tail gives maximum stability and filters vibrations along the entire ski
  • Ti Power Platform - Titanium laminate in the centre of ski, improving the torsional stiffness and overall stability as well as helping power transmission to the edges of the ski when riding on hard snow
