If you’re familiar with Sean Pettit and the terrains he excels in, then you know he needs a high-performance ski with bags of float and effortless control to tame it. Enter the K2 Pettitor, Sean’s signature model ski, designed to dominate powder as much as enjoy it, its twin tip design allows you to land switch off backcountry booters or throw massive powder butters with ease. Sitting between mid-flex and stiff it’s best suited to advanced and expert skiers who want a controlled and obedient powder ski which makes riding powder even more fun.

Built around K2’s Fir-Aspen Core, comprised of Fir, a stiff and durable hardwood which provides great edge-to-edge performance and Aspen, a lightweight yet strong softwood which increases the manoeuvrability of the ski.

Twintech sidewalls offer increased durability against impact damage by helping to absorb impact forces. This bolsters the edge against collisions with tree trunks and hidden rocks as well as knocks from other skiers and snowboarders in the lift queue.

The K2 patented triaxial braid weaves strands of fibreglass together and places them strategically throughout the ski. This increases the torsional stiffness across the ski without affecting the nose-to-tail flex, enhancing edge-to-edge performance without altering the ski’s overall feel.

Freeride orientated powder rocker in the nose and tail gives the ski lift and reduced drag in deep snow while camber underfoot keeps the ski lively and confident on ice and hard-pack.

Topped off with tapered tip which moves the widest point of the nose sidecut closer to the centre of the ski. This drastically reduces the occurrence of tip hang-ups on hard pack and in powder while giving the skis a turn radius similar to that of a shorter size.

What we say: “We didn’t think it was possible but riding fresh powder just got even more fun. More surface area to spread your weight across makes for an even more surfy ride. The Pettitor kills it on wide open faces and through the trees, making it the ski of choice for trips to Japan and BC.”

Size Guide

The size chart below provides a basic guide to finding the right ski length based on your height and ability but there are several other factors you should consider before choosing your new skis!

The two most relevant considerations when interpreting the chart below are your weight and the type of skiing you intend to do.

Weight: If you’re a heavier built that the average person of your height then we suggest choosing a longer ski as a heavier skier requires more edge to grip the snow and more base area for floatation in powder and cruddy snow.  Conversely, if you’re a slimmer build you may want to consider going for a shorter ski as you’ll need less edge / ski to support your weight than someone of an ‘average’ build.

Skier Type: Secondly, if you want a ski that’s going to inspire confidence when you’re skiing fast and you like to ski faster than most, then a longer ski is going to be preferable.   The additional edge and float provided by a longer ski will give you a more stable ride.  If, however, you’re more freestyle focussed and you want a ski that’s going to be more nimble and easier to manoeuvre at low speeds then a slightly shorter ski will work better for you as there will be less ski to manage.

If you have any queries at all on finding the right ski or ski size for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further advice.
