This is Tom Wallisch’s ski. It goes anywhere Tom does. Chairlifts, cat-trails, rails, kickers, wall-rides, airplanes, podiums…you get the point.

On the stiffer end of mid-flex and rocking a manoeuvrable 90mm waist, the 2018 Tom Wallisch Pro from Line Skis is built for jumping, jibbing, buttering and slashing like the man himself, and it’s not for the faint of heart! If you’re finding that your current setup is holding you back or letting you down, then the Wallisch Pro might be exactly what you’re looking for.

A light yet solid and poppy core

Line’s Maple Macroblock core blends two full-length Maple stringers with Aspen, for a powerful flex with increased strength and durability. Ollieband carbon fibre stringers run the full length of the ski to boost response while delivering instant power transfer and monster pop. The hybrid Capwall construction gives the ski a playful performance without compromising on precision and edge hold, while Line’s Fatty base and edge are 30% thicker than regular skis for dramatically increased durability.

Hybrid camber profile for the best of both worlds

Early Rise reverse camber at the contact points in the nose and tail dramatically reduce the chance of catching your edges on hard pack, give the ski extra lift in powder and help to make butters and presses easier. While the Early Taper shape means the widest points of the sidecut begin and end earlier in the ski. This drastically reduces the occurrence of tip and tail hang-ups on hard pack and in powder. Thin Tip tapered construction thins-out the ski’s core as it reaches the nose and tail to further reduce swing-weight and increase pop.

Built for backwards landings

With a versatile, switch-friendly symmetrical flex pattern and an intuitive five-radii blended sidecut, the Tom Wallisch Pro is a truly tameable beast that’s up for anything but won’t chew you up and spit you out in your moment of need. You’re probably not the next Tom Wallisch, but at the very least, these might get you a little closer to it.

The best bits…

  • Early Rise tip and tail for easier turn initiation and effortless float in softer snow
  • 4mm of tip and tail rocker with 4mm of camber underfoot
  • Switch-friendly Symmetric Flex pattern
  • Early Taper shape reduces tip and tail hook-ups in powder
  • Thinned-out Thin Tip core & sidewall for reduced swing weight & tip bounce
  • Maple Macroblock maple/aspen core
  • Prestretched Carbon Ollieband for added pop
  • Hybrid Capwall construction
  • Quick and durable Sintered Fatty Base
  • Hard-wearing Fatty Edges

Size Guide

The size chart below provides a basic guide to finding the right ski length based on your height and ability but there are several other factors you should consider before choosing your new skis!

The two most relevant considerations when interpreting the chart below are your weight and the type of skiing you intend to do.

Weight: If you’re a heavier built that the average person of your height then we suggest choosing a longer ski as a heavier skier requires more edge to grip the snow and more base area for floatation in powder and cruddy snow.  Conversely, if you’re a slimmer build you may want to consider going for a shorter ski as you’ll need less edge / ski to support your weight than someone of an ‘average’ build.

Skier Type: Secondly, if you want a ski that’s going to inspire confidence when you’re skiing fast and you like to ski faster than most, then a longer ski is going to be preferable.   The additional edge and float provided by a longer ski will give you a more stable ride.  If, however, you’re more freestyle focussed and you want a ski that’s going to be more nimble and easier to manoeuvre at low speeds then a slightly shorter ski will work better for you as there will be less ski to manage.

If you have any queries at all on finding the right ski or ski size for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further advice.
