FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND DESIGN; BUILT TO RULE THE MOUNTAIN.
A culmination of years of R&D, the innovative Marker Kingpin significantly raises the bar in binding technology. Thanks to its advanced PinTech protection system, the Kingpin is currently the only tech touring binding available with DIN/ISO certification from Germany’s prestigious TÜV testing organisation. Available in two DIN options, the nimbler Kingpin 10 tends to be favoured by lighter weight and less aggressive freetourers.
The only six-pack worth having
Unlike other PinTech bindings, the Kingpin boasts a 6-spring toe piece – 2 more than standard. Affectionately known as Six Pack Power springs, they hug the toe inserts tighter resulting in exceptional boot retention, unrivalled power transfer and greater shock absorption, meaning better edge hold and enhanced control over the skis when you’re in waist-deep descents.
Sometimes bigger is better
Complementing the Kingpin’s revolutionary toe piece is its XXL power transmitting heel. Unlike traditional pin touring bindings, which only have two points of contact in the centre of the boot heel, the Kingpin’s heel piece is more akin to that of an alpine binding, encompassing the entire heel – regardless of walk/rockered soles. By holding the heel in its entirety, the Kingpin provides the most direct power transmission of any PinTech binding.
Everything about the Kingpin has been designed to make your ascents as unburdened as possible. From its locking brake in walk-mode and crampon compatibility to the 0, 3 and 7-degree hiking platforms on its heel; it all ensures you’re less fatigued when the time comes to turn-off, tune-out and drop-in.
After years of research & development and several delayed release dates, the Kingpin took the ski touring market by storm in W15/16, gaining widespread approval from Marker fan-boys and freetouring purists alike. It’s W16/17 sophomore season saw it once again replicate the success of its previous year, cementing it as the new standard for freetouring bindings.
