An ethically sourced and developed wetsuit
Patagonia put a lot of thought and care into sourcing environmentally friendly materials for all of their products. The R2 Yulex isn't an exception with the utmost care taken in finding the best rubber for the environment and that isn't harsh against the skin. The R2 Yulex Front Zip Wetsuit is neoprene-free and made of 85% Yulex natural rubber and 15% synthetic rubber originating from polymer content. The natural rubber in the wetsuit is sourced from forests that have been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the Rainforest Alliance. This rubber has passed Patagonia's rigorous performance, durability, warmth and sustainability tests.
Durable and free of solvents
The synthetic rubber used for the wetsuit is chlorine-free and therefore easier on the skin. The outer shell of the suit is solution-dyed and contains 12% spandex which is durable and gives the suit good flex and water resistance. The lining of the R2 Yulex is solution-dyed, highly flexible and 100% recycled polyester. The lining expands on the flexibility of the wetsuit and speeds up the drying time. Both the outer face and lining are coated with a solvent-free AquaA glue which is acid-free and non-toxic. All of the R2 Yulex seams are triple glued and blindstitched to reinforce strength and the durability of the suit. The corrosion-proof Salmi zipper extends the lifespan of the suit by providing better cover. The zipper of the R2 Yulex is also replaceable unlike other Patagonia wetsuit models.
