The Ortovox Zoom + Transceiver offers the latest technology with maximum simplicity and is, in our opinion, the best value transceiver on the market.

Reduced to two functional buttons, the ZOOM+ concentrates on intuitive usability. The focus on the clearly designed LED-display is on the on / off switches and the switch between transmitting and searching. Distances, directional arrows and information about several avalanche victims guide you in the fastest way to the refined search area, with the intuitive search acoustics making victims easier to locate. Equipped with the patented SMART-ANTENNA-TECHNOLOGY, avalanche victims are found much better with the ZOOM+. The device analyzes its position in the avalanche and automatically switches to the best transimission antenna. The latest digital 3-antenna technology is taken for granted at ORTOVOX just as much as the aut omatic switch over in case of a follow-up avalanche.

Intuitive design

Ortovox designed the ZOOM+ for ease of use. Just two buttons make operating errors practically impossible. Once switched on, it is possible to switch between transmission and search mode using the safety switchover button. Subsequent search instructions are given on the large LED-display . An all-round soft rubber ring guarantees easy handling and additional protection. Ortovox have secured the ZOOM from being lost with an elastic hand strap and a comfortable bag.

Recco reflector

It also has a Recco reflector. Recco helps professional rescuers find victims buried in the snow even faster. The backup technology is used by more than 700 ski areas and rescue teams around the world.

Simplicity is safe

With only two buttons, faulty operation is virtually impossible. Once switched on, the user can switch between sending and searching modes using the safety switch. Further search instructions are then displayed on the large LED. A soft rubber ring around the outside of the device ensures easy handling and provides additional protection. To prevent loss, we've given the ZOOM+ an elastic hand loop and practical carrying case.

Visual + acoustic search

The ZOOM+ focuses the person searching on the large display in the middle of the device. LEDs are used to show the distance to the victim, the direction using arrows and if there is more than one victim. Large LEDs are easy to read especially in poor visibility conditions and at night. The visual search mode is supported by intuitive search ac oustics. Higher and fast sounds tell you that you are approaching the avalanche victim.

Smart-Antenna Technology

The integrated smart-antenna-technology analyzes the position of the antennas in the avalanche and automatically switches to the best transmission antenna. The result: Almost double the range in the worst coupling position, regardless of the beacon used for searching.The patented Smart Antenna Technology is compatible with all avalanche transceivers, in other words regardless of which device the person searching is using.

Switch over in case of a follow-up avalanche

The ZOOM+ is equipped with the latest, digital 3-antenna technology and with a motion sensor. This is required for switching over in case of a follow-up avalanche. If the transmitter registers no movement for more than 120 seconds while searching, it automatically switches back to transmission mode. Rescuers are thereby protected from follow-up avalanches at all times.

Technology

The ZOOM's complete electronics are checked when it is turned on (self test) and constantly monitored while in use. In case of a burial, once search mode has been activated, rescuers get an initial signal at 40 meters and are able to make use of a search strip width of the same size. Without having to compromise on transmission time, the ZOOM+ saves on the environment and your wallet! One AA battery is sufficient for 250 hours in transmission mode.

OUR RETURNS POLICY

Generally, we'll be happy to exchange or refund anything you've bought for up to one month from the date you receive it, so long as it’s in perfect, unused condition. If you'd like to return or exchange an item you bought more than one month ago, then you may be able to, but please email us about it first – a small restocking charge may also apply.
