A brilliant wetsuit for the environmentally-minded surfer

The neoprene-free Yulex R2 wetsuit from Patagonia is created sing an innovative mixture of 85% natural and 15% synthetic rubber. By getting rid of the normally petroleum-based neoprene and replacing it with a plant-based one, they can give you warmth and performance you’d expect from a traditional neoprene suit while reducing CO2 emissions by up to 80%. 

Responsibly-sourced raw materials

The natural rubber they use has been sourced Forest Stewardship Council certified and Rainforest Alliance approved trees, before being blended with chlorine-free synthetic rubber to improve the ozone and UV resistance. This means that you can do your bit for mother nature, while still wearing a suit that’s going to be strong, flexible and durable. It just happens to look great too.

Anatomical design and warmth-enhancing features

The suit’s anatomical design maximizes your flexibility and comfort while keeping weight to a minimum, featuring 3.5mm in the torso and thighs, and 3mm in the arms and legs. It’s lined with high-stretch, fast-drying and largely recycled technical liners for warmth, comfort and quick-drying, while the fully-replaceable Salmi® floating front zip gives you easy access in and out.

Clever construction means maximum movement

An asymmetrical zip flap gives a great seal and excellent flexibility in the chest and shoulders, while the durable Supratex kneepads and ankle cuffs are incredibly resistant to abrasion. All seams are externally sealed, triple glued, blind-stitched and internally taped to make them incredibly water resistant. 

If you’re environmentally minded and regularly surfing in water around 55–60° F/13–16° C, this could be the suit for you.

OUR RETURNS POLICY

Generally, we'll be happy to exchange or refund anything you've bought for up to one month from the date you receive it, so long as it’s in perfect, unused condition. If you'd like to return or exchange an item you bought more than one month ago, then you may be able to, but please email us about it first – a small restocking charge may also apply.

Returning or exchanging an item does not affect your statutory rights. You’ll find the official cancellation policy within full our Terms & Conditions.

WHO COVERS THE COST OF RETURNING AN ITEM?

You’re responsible for the cost of returning items to us, but if you choose an exchange, we’ll be happy to cover the cost of shipping things back to you.

ITEMS THAT YOU CAN'T RETURN...

  • Anything that’s missing its tags or isn’t in a perfect, new and unused condition, including all its packaging
  • Skis and ski bindings which have been mounted, because these will have been done to your specific requirements and can’t be resold
  • Underwear
