Escape the elements with our snowboard jackets
Your snowboard jacket is one of the most important bits of kit in your whole setup. At Freeze, we're riders too. We've used our knowledge and experience to put together this extensive range of technical snowboard jackets that'll look good in town and keep you comfortable on the hill, whatever the conditions.
Need a technical waterproof outer shell to complete a versatile system of layers? No problem. Something super-breathable for high-output touring? We've got it. How about something steezy for those spring park laps? You'll find what you're looking for.
We've got options to suit every budget, from quality but affordable coated fabrics, to super-technical GORE-TEX membranes. Choose high-performace down insulation or a manageable synthetic. Whatever you need, we've got you covered.
Making the right choice
Sure, your snowboard jacket has to look good, but if you don't have the right balance of weather-proofing, insulation and breathability then you're just not going to have a good time.
You need to think about the conditions. Is it really cold and dry? Is it quite warm, windy or wet? How intensely will you be exercising and how much will you sweat? Do you generally feel hot or cold? Do you want to use your jacket in town or only in the mountains?
Snowboarding, splitboarding, mountaineering or just heading out to pick up a pizza – whatever you're doing, choosing the right jacket can make the difference between having a great time and having a nightmare, but if you can answer all these questions before you make a choice, you're much more likely to pick a winner.
Layering up is the answer
Conditions change, and so does your activity level – don't get caught out with a load of gear that you can't use. Think about where you like to ski and how you like to do it. Build up the layers that you'll need to regulate your comfort, whatever the conditions.
Your jacket should be the icing on the cake of the technical layers that transport sweat and moisture away from your skin, while trapping warm air around you. Remember that to be really felxible, you don't always need to choose a ski jacket with a lot of insulation – your mid layers can do some of that too.
